Toe Pathologies

The most common problems with toes are deformities. These deformities could be hereditary or acquired due to inappropriate footwear or a combination of both. Additionally, such deformities occur in some arthritis or neurological diseases.

The most common deformities are hammer toes, retracted toes, claw toes, and mallet toes. There are some cases where the above are asymptomatic but in most of them such deformities can cause pain and / or callus formation. The first treatment line is conservative and may include special splints and / or specialized custom made insoles.
